QField is a powerful tool designed to streamline GIS fieldwork and facilitate efficient data exchange between the field and the office. It was awarded the prestigious Best of Swiss Apps Award 2022 in the enterprise category.
Based on the highly regarded QGIS open-source project, QField empowers users with fully configured projects that can be easily accessed in the field. It offers customizable feature forms, map themes, print layouts, and more, bringing the capabilities of QGIS to your fingertips.
QField leverages open source libraries such as gdal, SQLite, and PostGIS, enabling seamless reading, display, and editing of various spatial vector and raster datasets. Users can effortlessly view and modify datasets regardless of whether they are downloaded onto their device, shared via email, or transferred using a USB cable.
The supported formats include:

 <li>QGIS project files (.qgs, .qgz, as well as geopackage-embedded projects)</li>
 <li>SQLite-based geopackage and spatialite databases</li>
 <li>GeoJSON, KML, GPX, and shapefile vector datasets</li>
 <li>GeoTIFF, GeoPDF, WEBP, and JPEG2000 raster datasets</li>

Permissions
QField may request location permission to display a marker overlay of your device's location on spatial projects and datasets. Additionally, it can utilize location details such as latitude, longitude, elevation, and accuracy when entering data.
